Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about ScribX — product, privacy, billing, integrations and the technical details. Can't find it? Use search or check Troubleshooting.

Product

Does ScribX work with Google Meet, Zoom and Teams?

Yes — but the method depends on the platform. Send a bot to Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The browser extension captures your tab on Google Meet and Zoom (web) without a bot; Microsoft Teams is bot-only (the extension isn't available for Teams), and on the Zoom/Teams desktop app you also send a bot. See the capability matrix.

How does live transcription work?

As you speak, ScribX streams audio to our transcription pipeline in real time. Words appear on screen within milliseconds — first as interim (partial) text that updates as you speak, then as final committed text once the phrase is complete.

How does live translation work?

Each transcript segment is translated immediately after it's committed. Both the original and translation appear side by side. ScribX supports 100+ languages for transcription with EN, VI and JA in the full UI.

What is a meeting note?

After the call, ScribX automatically generates a structured note: a Quick recap, Overview by topic, Next steps by owner, and a timestamped Detailed recap. It's ready within seconds of the meeting ending.

What are Checkpoints?

Checkpoints are key moments ScribX captures while the meeting is still live — decisions made, blockers raised, action items assigned. They appear in the right panel during the call and feed into the final note.

Can I edit the transcript or notes after the meeting?

Yes. In the CMS you can edit any transcript line, rename speakers, adjust timestamps and regenerate summaries. Changes are saved instantly.

Privacy & data

Is my meeting audio stored?

No. Audio is processed in real time and discarded immediately after transcription. Only the transcript, summaries and structured notes are stored — encrypted at rest.

Does ScribX use my meetings to train AI?

Never. We do not use your meeting content to train any AI model, and we contractually prohibit all sub-processors from doing so. Your data is yours.

Is ScribX GDPR compliant?

Yes. We act as a data processor under GDPR when handling your meeting data. A full Data Processing Agreement is available — see our DPA. We support data subject rights requests and respond within 30 days.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Transcripts, notes and account data are deleted within 30 days. Audit logs are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations. You can export your data before deleting.

Billing

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free gives your organization 200 credits a cycle — about three hours of captured meeting — with the full AI write-up, translation, context sources, a 25-term glossary, calendar auto-join and voiceprints. No credit card required. See Plans & billing.

What is a credit, and what uses one?

One credit is one minute of a meeting transcribed by the ScribX engine. A bot meeting reading the platform's own captions costs a quarter of that, a mic Quick Note costs half, and live captions in the browser extension cost nothing at all — no bot is launched and nothing is transcribed by us. Summaries, translation, Checkpoints and chat never cost credits on any plan.

What's the difference between Pro and Team?

Pro is a one-person plan with a bigger allowance than Free. Team is the plan that lets you invite people: shared teams, a credit pool that grows per member, the shared context library, and the REST API, webhooks and MCP server. See Plans & billing.

What does Enterprise include?

Everything in Team plus SSO/SAML, bring-your-own STT key and storage, your own Zoom App and meeting-platform sign-ins, org-wide voiceprints, 50 concurrent meetings, no meeting-length cap, media kept indefinitely, and priority support with an SLA. Credits and storage are set in the contract — contact us for pricing.

Integrations

What is the MCP server?

ScribX exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so AI assistants like Claude or Cursor can query your transcripts, summaries and action items directly as tools — no copy-paste required. It's available on Team and Enterprise, once an admin switches it on.

Is there a REST API and webhooks?

Yes, on Team and Enterprise. The REST API lets you pull structured notes and transcripts into any system. Webhooks fire the moment a note is ready — push to Slack, CRM or a data warehouse automatically.

Can I connect Notion or other docs?

Yes. Link Notion pages, Outline or other sources as context — ScribX uses them to sharpen summaries and resolve names and acronyms correctly.

Technical

What browsers does the extension support?

The extension supports Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc). A Firefox extension is on the roadmap.

How accurate is the transcription?

Accuracy depends on audio quality, accent and language. In good conditions, ScribX achieves accuracy comparable to Google Cloud STT. Provide a glossary of product names, people and acronyms to improve results further.

Where can I find the docs?

Full documentation — quick-start, API reference, extension setup and MCP guide — is at docs.scribx.app.
