Connect your Zoom account
Before ScribX can join a Zoom meeting, your Zoom account has to be connected. Connect it once and it follows you across every team you're in.
Required for Zoom
Without a connected account, a Zoom bot is refused at the door. ScribX tells you this on the Start ScribX screen rather than letting you invite a bot that can't get in.
Google Meet and Microsoft Teams need nothing of the sort.

Connect it
- Open the web app and click Connections in the sidebar, under Account.
- Find the Zoom account card and click Connect Zoom.
- You land on zoom.us. Sign in if you aren't already.
- Review what ScribX asks for and click Allow.
- You come back to Connections, and the Zoom card now reads Connected.
That's the whole setup. You can start a Zoom meeting immediately.
Each person connects their own
Connections are per person, not per team. A teammate who wants to record their own Zoom meetings connects their own account the same way — yours doesn't cover them.
What it lets ScribX do
| Capability | What it means |
|---|---|
| Join your meetings | The bot can enter Zoom meetings you host or attend. |
| Start recording without asking | On meetings you host, ScribX can request a recording token, so the bot doesn't wait for someone to grant it in-call — and can skip the waiting room. |
| Arrive before you | The bot can join a meeting you host even if you haven't arrived yet. |
ScribX never reads your Zoom recordings, chat or contacts — only what it needs to join the meeting you asked it to join.
Check or remove it
Everything lives on the same card:
- Connections → Zoom account shows whether the account is connected.
- Disconnecting stops ScribX joining any further Zoom meetings. Recordings you already made stay where they are.
Troubleshooting
- "Connect your Zoom account…" on the Start screen — you're seeing exactly this requirement. Follow the steps above, then paste the link again.
- The Connect button sends me back with an error — your Zoom admin may restrict app installs. Ask them to approve ScribX on the Zoom Marketplace first.
- A teammate's meeting still won't record — check their account is connected. Yours only covers meetings you host or attend.
- The bot joins but waits for recording permission — the host's Zoom plan may not support recording tokens; the host can grant permission in-call as usual.
