Install the extension

The ScribX extension is what captures audio inside Google Meet and Zoom (web), and shows the live transcript while you talk. Install it once per browser. (Microsoft Teams isn't supported by the extension — send a bot for Teams.)

Supported browsers

ScribX runs on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers — Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave and Arc. A Firefox build is on the roadmap.

note

You only need the extension to capture meetings and watch them live. Reading, editing and sharing notes happens in the web app, which works in any modern browser.

  1. Open the ScribX listing in the Chrome Web Store in your browser.
  2. Click Add to Chrome (or Add to Edge / Add to Brave).
  3. Review the permissions and confirm. ScribX needs tab-audio access to transcribe your calls — nothing more.

Pin it to your toolbar

Pinning keeps ScribX one click away in every meeting.

  1. Click the puzzle-piece (extensions) icon in your toolbar.
  2. Find ScribX and click the pin icon next to it.

Confirm it's working

  1. Click the ScribX icon — the popup should open.
  2. Sign in with your account.
  3. Join a meeting in Google Meet or Zoom (web) — the ScribX side panel should be available.

If the panel doesn't appear, see Troubleshooting the extension.

Settings

Tune the interface language, theme, caption appearance and connection on the extension settings page. Your account and sign-in session are shared with the web app.
