Desktop app or web?
Most people run the Zoom desktop app → send a bot (the extension can't see the desktop app). Only when everyone is on Zoom in the browser can you use the extension instead.
Send a bot (recommended)
Sending a bot works whether participants are on the Zoom desktop app or Zoom web. Paste the Zoom link into Start ScribX in the web app.
In-call with the extension (Zoom web only)
If you joined via Zoom in your browser (web client), the extension can capture the tab from the content panel. On the Zoom desktop app the extension can't see the call — send a bot instead.
Admit the bot
If Waiting Room is enabled, the host opens Participants and clicks Admit next to ScribX. Full steps: Admit the bot.
Troubleshooting
- Bot stuck on "Joining" — if Waiting Room is on, the host must admit it from the Participants panel.
- No ScribX panel on Zoom — the extension only works on Zoom web. On the desktop app, send a bot instead.
- Bot won't join — make sure you pasted the full
zoom.us/j/…link (including any passcode in the URL).
Notes
- Enterprise teams can also use the Zoom App integration — see Integrations.
