Desktop app or web?

Teams is bot-only on both the desktop app and the web — always send a bot from the web app. The extension isn't available for Teams.

Teams is bot-only in ScribX — the browser extension isn't available for Teams. Paste the Teams meeting link into Start ScribX in the web app and a bot joins, records, transcribes and translates, then leaves.

Admit the bot

ScribX waits in the lobby until an organizer opens the participants panel and clicks Admit. Full steps: Admit the bot.

  • If the bot can't be admitted at all, the meeting's guest/lobby policy may block outside participants — ask the organizer to allow guests.

Troubleshooting

  • Bot stuck in the lobby — an organizer must admit it from the participants panel.
  • Bot can't be admitted at all — the meeting may block guests; ask the organizer to allow guests or admit it manually.
  • No extension option on Teams — that's expected: Teams is bot-only. Send a bot instead.

Notes

  • In person instead of on a call? Use Quick Notes to record from your mic.
